The Best Pizzas in Liverpool

You don’t have to be a student to love pizza. Everybody loves pizza. For lunch, dinner (or tea, now you’re in Liverpool) or late night after a drink, it’s the perfect meal. Luckily, Liverpool has a thriving food scene, and new pizza places are popping up regularly. With so many to choose from, Liverpool local Allie Davies gives a rundown of the best pizzas in Liverpool.

1.

Little Furnace

Little Furnace was a street-food favourite at Liverpool food festivals, but since the Baltic Market opened in 2017, their freshly baked pizzas are now available on a regular basis. The Baltic Market is a cool street-food hall located in Cains Brewery, Baltic Triangle which attracts crowds like you wouldn’t believe, so get down early or be prepared to queue. We promise it will be worth it though, for vegans, veggies and meat-eaters alike.

2.
Crust

Crust specialise in three things: pizza, pasta and beer. Amazing, right? This local favourite is situated on Bold Street, the epicentre of Liverpool’s food scene, but Crust are opening a new branch in South Liverpool suburb Woolton due to their wild popularity. Try the black dough for something different, or a pizza wrap for the best lunch you’ll have all week.

3.
Nightcrawler Pizza

Nightcrawler Pizza is not only cool for its retro interiors, but for being adjoined to one of the hippest gin bars in Liverpool. Get your half price slice before 6pm or split a whole one with some friends over a gin in The Merchant. You can even get pizza to take out, making Nightcrawler Pizza one of the best late-night food stops in the city.

4.
Nonno’s Pizza and Plates

Located on the oh-so-cool Lark Lane, Nonno’s Pizza and Plates is one of Liverpool’s newest pizza joints. See your pizzas made in front of you, wood fired and baked to perfection, with an Italian menu to die for. The place even offers pizza and prosecco parties, what’s not to love?

5.
Amalia

Last but certainly not least, we have Amalia, officially home to “England’s best pizza”. Amalia is hidden away down a quiet street, but just around the corner from shopping centre Liverpool One, making this place a hidden gem. If this is your first time at Amalia, you have to try the pizza, or you could even try the famous calzone challenge if you’re brave enough…
