Sending your child to university is an exciting milestone, but it can also come with plenty of questions. We’re here to make things easier by bringing together everything you need to know, from safety and security to what’s included in their stay and how we support students throughout their university journey.
What Hello Student offers
Safety and security
We place the highest importance on health and safety, with key-fob entry, CCTV, and friendly on-site teams and night caretakers helping residents feel secure. Regular fire drills and partnerships with local fire services during Fire Safety Week ensure students know exactly what to do in an emergency.
What does being a guarantor actually mean?
If your student wants to pay rent in instalments, they’ll need a guarantor. It’s a big commitment, so here’s exactly what it involves.
As a guarantor, you’re agreeing to help your student meet their tenancy obligations, paying rent on time and following our behaviour policy. You take on joint financial responsibility, meaning you’d cover the rent if they couldn’t.
In short, we’re asking you to provide the support they need while they learn to live independently, which is exactly what we’re aiming for too.
No guarantor available? You can still pay in instalments using a guarantor service like Housing Hand, who act as your guarantor for a small fee.
Making move-in day easy
Moving day should be exciting, not stressful. That’s why we’ll provide your student with a check-in time slot to help everything run smoothly. Our friendly team will be on hand to support with move-in, key collection and any questions you may have.

From academic pressures to everyday worries, support is never far away. Through the HealthHero app, all Hello Student residents have free access to professional counselling and wellbeing support, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, wherever they are. With dedicated on-site teams always available to lend a hand, students can access support whenever they need it.
Visiting your student
We know having friends and family visit is an important part of student life, so visitors are welcome. To help maintain a comfortable environment for everyone, residents are responsible for their guests and any damage or disruption they may cause. Extended stays of more than one week are not allowed.
All-inclusive, no surprises
With bills, WiFi, and contents insurance included, managing student accommodation couldn’t be easier. Residents also enjoy access to social spaces, regular events, communal cleaning, and premium amenities, all covered by the rent.
