Britain’s second-biggest city is full up, fit to bust, and bursting at the seams with things to do.
There’s the grand: the Hippodrome and Symphony Hall. Host to the world’s biggest musicians, performers and its most eye-catching musicals.
There’s the modern: The Bullring centre and the Custard Factory. Where stonking great department stores (Selfridges) combine with small boutiques, offbeat independents and everything in between. There’s the quirky: the Jewellery Quarter. Home to hundreds of historic 250-year-old businesses, as well as… drum roll, please… the Birmingham Pen Museum. That’s right: a museum for pens.
And then, there’s the food – and lots of it. Cadbury chocolate started here. Today another C dominates: curry. It’s the nation’s favourite cuisine and Birmingham’s the best place to sample it. Legend has it chicken tikka masala was invented in the city’s iconic Balti Triangle.
So what are you waiting for? We’ll see you in Brum.
