Bath. Romantic, revitalising, rewarding Bath. Home to the Romans, Jane Austen – and maybe you, too. Set in the rolling English hillside, Bath may look beautifully serene. But look more carefully and you can still get your adrenaline going. Those iconic baths are, of course, the headline act. There you can bathe in the same naturally warm waters as the Romans and Celts did 2,000 years ago – surrounded by some of the world’s best preserved Roman ruins.
Then, there’s the shops. Our favourite? Milsom Street. Namechecked by Jane Austen herself (in her novel Persuasion), it’s still the place to go for designer boutiques. There’s also Upper Town for high-end outlets and vintage one-offs.
To really ramp up the pace, head further out. You’ll find motorsports at Castle Combe. Horses at Bath Racecourse. And the climbing challenge of Cheddar Gorge. Adrenaline junkie? Mindfulness guru? Either way, you’ll be right at home in Bath.
Friendly. Well-located. Practically perfect.
