Falmouth. Beautiful, serene Falmouth. A harbour town in the south of Cornwall, its name literally means ‘the mouth of the river Fal’.
Here you’ll find the world’s third largest natural harbour. From Falmouth, many famous ocean voyages have set sail around the world – and returned triumphant. It’s where Dame Ellen MacArthur set her world record.
It’s a fun city. Carefree. On either side of the harbour, idyllic beaches stretch out far and wide. If surfing’s your thing, you’re in the right place. If basking in the summer sun’s your thing… you’re in the right place. In winter, go for cosy wrapped-up walks along the beach – the perfect study break.
But it’s not all scenic beauty and water sports. Falmouth has its fair share of vibrant bars, independent cafes, and fantastic restaurants too.
