Being the capital of Wales has its advantages. When bands tour, they always play Cardiff. When an exhibition leaves London, it heads west. Then there’s the Principality Stadium: the home of Welsh rugby, and a venue for the UK’s biggest sports and music events.
Cardiff’s a great place to go out, too. Around St Mary Street, there are dozens of friendly pubs serving fine Welsh beer. Head to Greyfriars Road, and you’ll find more bars and clubs than you can shake a daffodil at.
Want to go shopping? In Cardiff, it’s a classy affair, with six Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades dotted around the amazing Cardiff Castle. So even buying a pair of trainers feels historic.
